Mission Statement
Butterfly Hope is committed to the development of children's lives by
offering a program of Natural Science,
Gardening and the Creative Arts. This enrichment program encourages
children to respectfully explore their natural world and the creativity
that grows within each of them.
Many urban children-particularly those raised in poverty, or who are otherwise
at risk, frequently do not have access to the natural world beyond the
concrete confines of the city. These children often have little or no
opportunities to explore their own centers of creativity. Butterfly Hope
is designed to spark curiosity and provide a sense of hope for the future!
 |
In 1993 Butterfly Hope formed a partnership with Cheltenham Elementary School in west Denver, Colorado where programs take place on an ongoing basis during school breaks. Butterfly Hope also partners with classroom teachers to integrate exploration of the school's gardens into everyday academic studies. |
Prevention and early intervention are the keys to making a difference in the lives of children and their families. We believe Butterfly Hope is indeed the hope of the future for many of the program's participants. By developing each child's sense of self-discovery she/he will have the confidence to make healthy and wise choices as they enter their teenage years. |
