What's Ahead

Butterfly Hope continues to plan, fundraise, and create new and exciting programs for our community and students. We have long standing partnerships with such groups asDenver Botanic Gardens ,The Other Side Arts (TOSA)and Denver Urban Gardens (DUG).

Here are the current programming dates for 2011:

Butterfly Hope will be participating in Denver Public Schools and Slow Food Denver’s program Garden to Cafeteria where Butterfly Hope student gardener’s will harvest food they have grown all summer and sell to the cafeteria to help feed their community healthy food. The money will go back into the garden program.

3-5th graders will have opportunities for creative expression and art technique development in addition to expanding their knowledge of Garden Based Nutrition while learning all about the Mayan Culture.

Our second session with CHAC (Chicano Humanities Art’s Center) will take place September 22, 29 & October 6 where Cheltenham families will learn about the ancient method of gardening with the 3 Sisters (corn, beans and squash) while doing plein air water color painting in the Butterfly Hope’s 3 Sisters garden. Thanks to SCFD for funding this collaborative project!
